[2008-02-10] A lonely corner on a busy street

A concrete angel raises its hands to heaven above a section of demolished curb at a roadside memorial in Austin, TX.

I noticed this roadside memorial at the southern corner of the southbound road at South Mo-pac and La Crosse in Austin, TX. I don't know who died there, or the circumstances of the accident, but the memorial left by the next of kin is striking and beautiful.

The setting sun glorifies the angel in a side view of the scene. A piece of broken curb is nestled in the grass.
